Happy 3 month milestone!

Little Lizzie, my how you’ve grown these past 3 months!  Lizzie is no longer a newborn, she s a real baby.  I’m sad to see her cuddle stage go away and have already forgotten how bad some of those late nights were.  Most of what I remember are sweet moments of her lying in my arms and seeing her accomplish skills that we grown ups take for granted.

As I look back at pictures, I see how much we have all grown as a family.  Its amazing how much we love her and how strong that bond became these last three months.  Lizzie may never remember these days but I will always think of these days when I think of my little girl.

Hello 3 month old!  I’m also very excited for this stage.  She is meeting some of those milestones already.  Lizzie is showing her strong but sweet personality.  She coos all of the time, she’ll be a talker like dad.  She moves a lot.  In fact she is rolling from front to back on both sides and occasionally will roll from her back to front on her right side.  This is very rare and she is scared each time she does it.  She is vocal about what she wants and calms when she gets it.  She is putting her fingers in her mouth and putting toys in her mouth when they are put in her hand.  She is observing all new places and faces these days!  She has really woken up to the world.  Lizzie is scared of new things these days and I don’t blame her with all of the new observations to take in.  She has been clingy to mom lately during social events outside of the house but we’ll keep trying on her terms of course!

I’ve joined a mama group in the city and we’ve met some great moms with great friends for Lizzie.  Most of them are older but some are younger and some we haven’t yet met.  So, its nice that Lizzie is in the middle.  We not only get great company, we get good advice and will be able to give good advice later on. It’s so nice to have them in our lives!

This past week we had a few visitors with friends who are expecting.  One visit was with one of my oldest friends, Clare, and her fiancĂ© Blake.  We also visited with 2 of our newest friends who are expecting, Tim and Lara Compton.  Lizzie can’t wait to play with their expected ones in the future!

getting out!

It’s been a while since the last update but Lizzie has been busy.  We are so proud; she has slept through the night, 8+ hours!!!  However, most nights are averaging 6 hours and then 3 hours after a feeding.  We are NOT complaining!  She is also taking naps better.  Sadly the pediatrician told us to begin getting rid of the swaddle so think of us in these upcoming weeks.  Hopefully this transition goes smoothly.

She had her shots last week, which made her fussy for a few days.  She's back to normal now though.
Lizzie is rolling!   Or has a few times.  She is also keeping her head up for several minutes at a time!  She loves watching the  swing go back and forth.

Lizzie’s LewLew and Pappie came to visit.  She enjoyed it and so did mom and dad.  Tim and I were able to go to dinner and I was able to run and do some yoga classes.  We went to the Sheffield garden walk and Nana also came out for a day.

Lizzie and I have been getting out more and more.  We’ve been shopping, walking, and even went to a stroller fitness class.   She is loving the time outside now that Chicago weather isn't competing with Mississippi's!

That’s it for now.  I’ll try to be better at posting next week!

busy busy girl

Oh what a busy week its been.  Lizzie’s social calander was full this weekend.  She met her Great Grandma Janice, Aunt Jill, Cousins Finn and Greyson, and her godmother Shelly.  Also she got more presents, this child will never be naked.  Thanks Antie Erin for the cute hat and booties, pictured below.

Thanks for the booties and hat Erin!

It was great being at Nana’s for most of the week. I was able to attempt to run and get some extra naps, which felt great.  Thanks so much again Linda and Joel!

Last week the doctor waived all of the restrictions, so I can exercise and get Lizzie out of the house, weather permitting.  Hopefully this will help out her night/day confusion.  Actually, she has been sleeping very well throughout the night with intermittent feedings this past week.  Tim and I are thrilled!  Also, I had to get rid of diary in my diet, which seems to have helped her reflux and gas and is making me excited to get back to a healthier diet. However, I'm dreaming of cheese plates.

She is smiling and cooing more and more everyday.  Her eye contact and focus have improved a lot too.  She can lift her head and turn it.  Big things are happening and we are so excited.  Of course, this means that she’ll loose some things too, which reminds us to enjoy every second. She is really starting to show her own unique personality!

I love the night time...

She found her thumb

Passed out

What hates garlic and is awake primarily at night...Lizzie!  She is still confused about night vs. day and we are waiting patiently for her circadiam rhythm to kick in.  We've had the all night scream fests and the still and quiet wide awake nights.  However, this past week we had some great time in the wee hours of the morning.  I'm not sure if I should encourage this behavior, everyone says something different.  I do know that we had good play time and I enjoyed every sleep deprived moment of it.

Lizzie also had Mulrooney visitors today and yesterday.  Her Grandpa Mike is proud of her blue eyes and hoping they'll defeat the typically dominant browns from the Taylor side.

Meeting more Family...

Social Life- Last week, Lizzie met her Uncle David and her "Auntie" Brooke.  They enjoyed the city and were a big help.  Lizzie also met the Bower family in Batavia where we all spent the weekend.  Finally we were all able to get much needed sleep.  Thank you Linda and Joel, Nana and Papa, for the relaxing weekend.  We were also able to have some social time in Batavia.

Development- Lizzie is smiling!  She has the cutest smile and is beginning to coo.  Also she had a doctors appointment and is growing well, 50th percentile in weight and head circumference and 75th in her height.  She also had her second Hep B shot, which was probably more traumatic for me than anyone else.

Lizzie happy to be at Nana's.
