Weekend of Comptons, Pumpkins, restaurants, and other fun stuff!

Last weekend we had a shower for our friends Tim and Lara.  Lots of people came over and it was fun for a while.  I got to play with my friend Phoebe who was trying to teach my how to crawl.  I’m not quite there yet, still working on the sitting thing.  I am close to sitting though.

Almost everyone at the shower

New thing to eat- toes. MMMMMM

MMMMMMMM

Sunday we went to pick out pumpkins at the pumpkin patch with Tim and Lara.  We went for a long drive out of the city to a place that resembles Mississippi, only with corn everywhere, no cotton.  I helped Daddy pick out the best pumpkin there.
Look at all of these pumpkins!

What is that?

And what is that smell???

Looking for the perfect pumpkin with dad

That's it!

Yay!  My first pumpkin!

This is awesome!

We also visited the new restaurant, 2 Sparrows.  Our friend Steve helped create it.  I didn't get to eat anything though.  Soon, soon.

Enjoy your foie gras poptart, I'll eat my rings.

I love my stander!  Too bad mom and dad limit my time in it!  I'll get them back when I'm mobile.

My pumpkin made it home.
And here is a video of mom making me laugh!  More videos to come.  Hopefully this works!

Reality is Perspective cont...

So, obviously I'm yammering on, or that is what the blog thinks.  So, new page and more yammering!

This week Dad went away for a work trip AGAIN!  But Mom and I had a good time.  We went shopping, walking, and we got ready for a baby shower we're hosting for our friends Tim and Lara on Saturday.
Also, today I went to a baby/mom get together and really enjoyed it (sorry no pictures)!  I interacted with other babies and moms.  After that I took at 2 1/2 hour nap!
Tim and Lara with me 2 or 3 days old!

Thanks Godfather Andy for the awesome onesie!  Mom thinks these cutoffs are cute.  I'll get her back one day...
Hanging with Mom!

New thing to eat- Mom's hair.  MMMMMM!

With all of these new changes and new perspectives I am quickly becoming a city girl.  That's right!  Watch out Chicago, here I come!!!!

Reality is Perspective

I took this, with mom's help of course.  This is my usual perspective.

Being a city girl hasn't always been easy for me.  It's very noisy, we are rushing around when we go places, its stop and go stop and go when we're in the car, did I mention it was noisy.  It is NOIIIII-SY!!!   It is simply overwhelming sometimes.  However, I have recently decided to change my perspective.  Thank you Memaw for the insightful letter.  Like mom says, "perspective is reality".  Or what I say, "reality is perspective".  Overall I am a HAPPY baby!!!

Happy Happy Happy!

I am enjoying life and my new skills.  I am able to control my environment more and more each day.

Part of my new perspective is having new abilities, like sitting up with support.  And "standing" with help from mom or dad.
Me sitting with support.

Recently  Lew Lew came to visit.  I always do something new when she comes along, to mess with mom and dad mainly.  I usually don't long naps in fear of missing something very important.  When Lew Lew was here, I began taking longer naps.  They all also realized that I sleep through a lot of noise, my bedroom is in an open loft apartment.  Way to plan mom and dad!  (sarcasm)  I enjoyed time with her.  I didn't scream at her and I didn't need my mommy as much.  I let mom and dad go to a Bears game!  GO BEARS!!!!  They won!  So did Ole Miss, seriously it happened.  Look it up if you don't believe me.
My Elizabethan dress suited for an Elizabeth, made by Lew Lew.

Birthdays and Weddings

Last weekend was a fun one at home with Mom, Dad, and Sam.  We went to the zoo and I got to see a big Sophie.  I wanted to have a bite, but mom and dad said no.  I also got to ride a hippo with mom and took a nap while the tigers growled.  Good thing I missed that one.

Look at all of the giant Sophies.  mmmmm

We also watched football of course. On Saturday we wasted another morning watching Ole Miss “play” football.  I may just start wearing my Illinois gear on Saturdays.  Yay!  They are ranked.  Last Sunday was different.  I had to make the hard choice of what to wear.  I ended up wearing my Bears cheerleading outfit to make Daddy happy, and I knew the Saints would win.  Better luck next week Bears!  I’m still a fan but I’m also a Saints fan.  Drew Brees is awesome!

In my Ole Miss attire.

Under Pressure...

Go Bears!!!!

This week was “Daddy’s Birthday Week”  Or so he says.  I don’t think it’s a national holiday but I sure wish it was so he could stay home and play with me.  Mom and I made him tacos by request and he let me help him blow out the candles on his yummy cupcakes.  I sure wanted a bite but mom and dad said no.

Blowing out candles with Daddy!  Happy Birthday Daddy!

Yummmmmmy!

Stand off.

This weekend I had visitors – Beth and Andrea.  We hung out and played in the morning then I went to a restaurant for the first time ever!  It looked so yummy, especially the orange juice.

I HATE shopping!

I also went to Batavia to wish my Grandpa Mike good luck with his and Grandma Kathy’s wedding on Saturday!  I met all of the Mulrooney clan but fussed most of the time.  The picture below about sums it up.

Mom and Dad wouldn’t let me go to the wedding.  They said I might not like a 3 hours boat ride full of people.  But I’m glad they got a night to themselves.  Sorry I don’t have any pictures of the wedding but Mom and Dad said it was beautiful!
Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Mike- Congratulations!

Mom and Dad enjoying their night out.

Sorry to say the Bears lost again.  But they’ll get it together.  Also, I don’t know what is going on with the videos of me.  I’m not very tech savvy.
